Larry: I saw you mentioned fried clams. We always have some in the freezer. Clams are our 1st choice and oysters are a close 2nd. We do fix the oysters the old fashion way but your way is a lot less messy. Might just give this method a try. You are right about cooking them too long. At almost $30 a quart you better set a timer. More than 50 seconds on clams and they are ruined. Another great video! Short, sweet and to the point. Bernard

my suggestion is not oil but use shortening and also dont use cornmeal , just the flour and old bay

Looks fantastic….I went to every store in our area last week and couldn’t find any oysters….Thanks for the recipe……They look fantastic….

vanscoyoc says:

I’m making these tonight and maybe for football tomorrow.

vanscoyoc says:

They were excellent!  The key is the oysters.  I HATE shucking them because you pay a dollar or more apiece, 10% are bad right off the bat, many are too small to use.  The way to do this is to buy them pre-shucked.  Guaranteed size.  Went to Wegmans today to pick up more.  Ugggggh they were out.  WTF!!!!  Had to buy in the shell.  It’s a mess, its slow, they are smaller,  some are bad.  I’m pissed off.

James Nigro says:

Trying this tonight. Wish me luck.

Alex Schloesser says:

The problem I have with Frying stuff is you never really know how long to put them in there. I mean keep in there until Golden Brown. You don’t know how many minutes. I mean what if you get board, & you burn them.

Headchefmom Kendall Lawrence says:

Looked delish!
