Love the new format! New angles and depths – lovely to see all of you Nami instead of just hands! As always, this looks delicious. No doubt it is. Just One Cookbook has always been my go-to Japanese cooking site. Have consistently made and kept a jar of your mentsuyu recipe, in my fridge for years. Thank you team Just One Cookbook! PS. Please don’t ever remove your children’s chorus of ‘itadakimasu’ ❤️

Paul Smith says:

oishiso desu ne! Arigato!!!

dsvilla says:

What I love about your videos is that they show how simple it is to make delicious Japanese food. At first I was intimidated but I’ve made a couple of your recipes and they come out great! I’ll be sure to try out this recipe as well. Thank you!

I love garlic and butter combination!!! N like you used pan too. I’m looking for nonstick one. I only needed some veges like Kimchi salad?

DaeHyun Song says:

If it has garlic, I’m sure I’ll love it! Though, I wonder if I will increase the amount of garlic or not (at least in later iterations of me making it.). Thanks for the recipe!

Alana Vitória says:

Thank you

Adriel Eje says:

Just One Cookbook says:

We made our video slightly differently. We included a POLL in our latest video, so click on “i”  (information) button on right top corner, and let us know what you think. And thanks to a JOC reader’s feedback, we started to film intro and outro at different locations around the JOC kitchen studio.  We love getting your feedback and test something new.  Please keep them coming. Thank you for your ongoing support with our work! xo

Tom Champion says:

I like your new method of additional ‘b’ shots. It does improve understanding of how the dish turns out. I would ask that you show the flame under the pan. All burners are different & the best way to show hot, medium, and low is the flame. Is it typical to eat the shrimp cold? The Rice could be started before the Shrimp & both could be could be done near the same time & served warm. Very nice work.

Maria Pandremmenou says:

This dish rocks babe! Keep up the good work! Kisses from greece!

Shawipat Nhuboonkaew says:

Thanks Nami, tomorrow i will try but i don’t have Japanese rice, i think i will try with my Thai rice (Jusmin rice).
Thanks again for your recipe, lots of love from Thailand ❤️

Mat Lit says:

This looks great! I will try this soon. I am surprised the rice retained its shape and texture even though you used freshly cooked rice. When making fried rice, I usually use day old rice.

EL says:

I’m so hungry now!!! That sizzle sound when you’re frying the rice is music to my ears.

Sowande says:

Oh! Butter!!!!

Vincent Jack says:

Looks really good, I wanted to know about the knife that you use in this video. Where can we but that brand of knifes?

Yoshiko Yeto says:

Beautiful video! I love this style! I really need to make your garlic fried rice. It brings back great memories of my mother’s incredible fried rice, which I used to request all the time as a kid. Thanks as always, Nami-san!

Julie Pierce says:

Sorry – I forgot to add that I’ve always enjoyed the background music you use – enjoy the fact that you bother to change it so frequently and think it walks perfectly the fine line of not being too distracting but still pleasant and a little catchy. Thank you again!

Kinshi says:

I actually really like the medium-ish shots when you were adding the ingredients that didn’t have a measure. The into and outro were also very lovely.

Sakura Haruno says:

You look beautiful when you make a serious face while frying the rice

Nicole Champeau says:

Yum!

ken takeda says:

Wow! My lunch

Mandie Cucinotta says:

Filipino garlic fried rice (sinangag) is very similar, our family recipe almost the same except no soy sauce or parsley. Yum yum!
