Almazan Kitchen Lasagne is the best on the tube
I like the way you did it. Similar to my way, but the cheese mixture I never did, just put riccota and mozzarella and topped the way you do, yet I really like this idea better. Can’t wait to try.
Ew ricotta.
How different lasagna recipes are through the world! Here we use different fillings and fresh pasta. But I’m sure going to try it, never had it when in America. Thanks!
2 HOURS. !!!!!!! It’s tender waaaay befor 2 hours. : – ). Sorry.I am from Denmark. We do not cook minch meat for 2 hours. ; – )

You’ve inspired me to surprise my husband with this lasagna tonight for dinner !
thank you so much for the recipe. could you please tell me how to make that sauce?
is it just me or does this guy sound like Seth rogan? I’m digging it bro
I like the older videos, he sounds fuckin retarded in the newer ones
Just in case no one has told you yet you sound just like Seth Rogen!!!!
can i add a tomato sauce with meat?
I made this 2 years ago I believe and followed all your instructions and it came out real delicious!,it was my very first time doing lasagna!,thanks for sharing your recipe!!
We have the recipe in under a minute.
this is vintage chef john
I made this today and it was just spot-on awesome!!! ☺
you can use any marinara sauce?
i made this in a 9×13 casserole dish, and let me tell you, it had its challenges, and while it only overflowed and bubbled out of the dish a little, it still turned out amazing. I should have put one less layer of lasagna noodles to make it a bit more saucier. Also, i should have thinned out the sauce a bit more, as it was a little too thick. Other then this, i added Onions and garlic to help season the beef a bit, I also added the mushrooms as suggested, and I also added fresh basil between the lasagna layers. turned out fantastic. First time making lasagna, and definitely not my last!
I made this, following the recipe carefully, and the cheese sauce came out firm almost like eggwhites and sort of flakey!
I think adding whole eggs might the problem. Omit the egg whites perhaps??
Anyway, i won’t use this recipe again, and will go back to traditional bechamel sauce,
As long as you do what he does for the ricotta, and do not do anything to destroy your meat sauce, your lasagna will be one of the best you’ve ever had. BTW I’ve made lasagna doing both raw and cooked noodles, I prefer raw, but it really tastes great either way. It’s hard to mess lasagna up, it’s just time consuming especially for italian.
freaking love lasagna.
Not Enough CHEEESE !!!

No one makes lasagna better than me. My mother taught me how to make it when I was 9 and now she says mine blows hers away. She won’t cook it anymore because she calls me to make it for her. Cool thing is she buys all the best ingredients for me to make it. This is my favorite dish and I cook it to impress every date I have had. Only if they are lucky though. Good vid.
5:36 was orgasmic for me.
John I doubt you’re going to see this 6+ years later… but why would the bottom layer not be noodle? Wouldn’t that make it much easier to scoop out when you cut a slice?
Hello Chef John. I have been rather an asshole to you on other vids of yours that i have seen. i have been complaining on your voice presentation saying you are annoying. Well sir, something of an epiphany happened to me today that has been in the works for a long long time. It was a great thing and made me cry.
I want to take this opportunity to APOLOGIZE to you for my recent behavior. I do not know if you have read my comments but know that i am an extremely unhappy man at this point of my life and i should know better. Shame on me sir. Hopefully you just brushed me off and kept goin as you should but regardless i owe you a HUGE apology and so John I am sorry. Deeply. I welcome your joy for what you do and i see that now. Now i can only hope to enjoy your recipes someday as i am currently homeless and have been for bout 9 months and i do not know what the future will bring me. God bless you.
Chef John what jarred sauce do you recommend?
I just had a heart attack 8 days ago why am I doing this to myself!!!!!!
Great looking lasagna, when my mom wanted to impress us, she did so by making her lasagna with crepes for melt in your mouth lasagna. Have you tried it this way or thought about it?
In real Italian cooking make lasagna with ricotta is a no no, just Parmingiano o Grana and or Mozzarella
I tried it today , it was very very tasty. thank you very much
While you have canned and jar sauces which i’ve found larger cans of hunts cheaper than preggo or ragu i buy the cheap hunts cans, throw in fresh veg and some red wine. Is mos def suggest using some wine to “deglaze” your can, it can take a cheap sauce up a level.
Did I miss something? I didn’t see him put any garlic in the meat sauce….can’t have Italian without garlic!!
No problem!!I,ll take out a mortgage to buy all this cheese you dumb fuck!!!!!!
When you topped it off with the final mozzarella(as I hoped you would), I couldn’t help but scream out, ” _Yes_!!!”
good job im soooo hungry now
Bechamel > Ricotta mixture
how come u don’t like the raw noodles?? my mother always makes the dough fresh, makes her own long thin sheets for the lasagna. it’s a euro thing. it’s far superior. even the dough has to be fresh and homemade. kinda like the italians make there pasta fresh
I keep thinking of Seth rogen here
