Apollo Fish Fry Recipe – By Vahchef @ vahrehvah.com

Apollo fish fry is a very popular bar & restaurant dish in Hyderabad. Spiced batter coated fish deep fried and tossed in an awesome spicy masala mix.

Ingredients:

Murrel fish 250 g
Corn starch 1 tb
All purpose flour 1 tb
Egg 1 n
Ginger garlic paste 1 ts
Chilly powder 1 ts
Turmeric pinch
Egg 1 n
Oil for deep fry
Chopped ginger garlic 1 ts
Green chilly chopped 3 n
Curry leaves 2 sp
Chilly paste 1 tb
Coriander powder 1 ts
Salt
Soya sauce 1 ts
Curd ¼ cup
Peppers crush ½ ts
Lime juice 1 tb

Directions:
Take bowl add Murrel fish pieces, add salt, ginger g
rlic paste, chilly powder, turmeric, mix it well, add egg, corn starch, all purpose flour, mix this well and deep fry them, keep it aside.
Heat oil in a pan add chopped ginger & garlic, green chilly, curry leaves, chilli paste, coriander powder, salt, soya sauce (optional), curd, crush pepper powder, chopped coriander leaves, cook this some time and add fried fish toss it and add lime juice.

babai aripinchav.. too good;) I modified it a bit after being inspired. The changes I made.. were.. added tomato paste.. ( to add color and reduce the spice) and added finely chopped onions and tossed few spring onions. It turned out very well and I named it ‘ Curiosity Fish Fry ‘

Chef.. I tried it. I customised it. I used a little pepper and food color in the batter. Then I fried chilli, ginger, garlic and curry leaves and garnished the fried fish. My folks loved it. Thanks.

Further to my below comment, tried replacing fish with boneless chicken. Turned out better than Majestic chicken. Tried with baby potatos. First baked baby potatos. and tadka part is applied. Turned out excellent. Always added cashew nuts in tadka 🙂

When in Hyderabad, regularly buy Apollo fish from Niagara. Yesterday made at home. Turned out good. Two things : First what type of chilli paste was used in sauteying? I used chilli powder but it was good. Second Added cashew nuts along with garlic ginger in oil to get that really nice restaurant touch
